Brian Bishop
Brian Bishop (24 July 1947 – 27 August 1984) was a British police officer who served with the Essex Constabulary. He joined the force as a cadet in 1962 and became PC 389 in 1966. Bishop worked in various roles throughout his career, including as a dog handler and firearms instructor. On 22 August 1984, while on duty in Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, Bishop was shot in the head by an armed robber. He succumbed to his injuries five days later. Bishop's bravery and dedication to his role as a member of the Essex Police tactical firearms group are commemorated in a memorial stone.
