Brian Boitano Biography
Brian Anthony Boitano (born October 22, 1963) is an American figure skater from Sunnyvale, California. He is the 1988 Olympic champion, the 1986 and 1988 World Champion, and the 1985–1988 U.S. National Champion. Boitano turned professional in 1988 but returned to competition in 1993 under new rules by the ISU. He represented the United States at the 1994 Winter Olympics, placing sixth. In 1996, Boitano was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame and the United States Figure Skating Hall of Fame. He is of Italian American descent and has lived in San Francisco as an adult.
