Brian George (born 1 July 1952) is an Israeli-born British actor known for his roles in popular TV shows. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Pakistani restaurateur Babu Bhatt in Seinfeld (1989–1998) and as the Indian gynecologist father of Raj Koothrappali in The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019). Additionally, he provided the voice for Chutney in Father of the Pride (2004–2005) and played the spiritual guide Guru Pathik in Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008). Born in Jerusalem to Jewish parents of Lebanese, Indian, and Iraqi descent, George grew up in Toronto, Canada. He attended the University of Toronto and was active in theater during his time there.
