Brian Johnson (born 5 October 1947) is an English singer and songwriter. He is best known for his role as the lead singer of the Australian rock band AC/DC. Johnson joined AC/DC in 1980 as the replacement for the late Bon Scott. Prior to AC/DC, he was a founding member of the rock band Geordie. With AC/DC, Johnson recorded the highly successful album Back in Black, which is considered one of the best-selling albums of all time. In addition to his work with AC/DC, Johnson has also released several solo albums. In recognition of his contributions to music, Johnson and AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
