Brian Michael Smith (born January 29, 1983) is an American actor known for his performances on television. He is also an advocate for trans representation in the media. Smith was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan by his mother, Ingrid Smith, and had a close-knit family. Despite being assigned female at birth, he identified as male throughout his childhood and challenged societal expectations. Smith excelled in both football and track & field while attending Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. He made history on September 17, 1999, becoming the first person assigned female at birth to score a varsity touchdown in the state. Smith's work in television has made a significant impact and he continues to be a prominent figure in advocating for trans rights.
