Brian Setzer Biography
Brian Robert Setzer (born April 10, 1959) is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He gained popularity in the early 1980s as a member of the rockabilly group Stray Cats. Setzer later achieved success with his swing revival band, the Brian Setzer Orchestra, in the early 1990s. He made a cameo appearance as Eddie Cochran in the film La Bamba in 1987. Born in Massapequa, New York, in April 1959, Setzer began his musical journey playing jazz bands on the euphonium. Over time, his interests shifted towards rock, punk, and rockabilly. He co-founded the Stray Cats, originally called the Tomcats, with his brother Gary. The band sold their instruments to fund a trip to England, where they found success.
