Brian Shoop Biography
Brian Shoop is an American baseball coach and former player. He played college baseball at Malone University from 1977 to 1980, where he was an all-district selection and part of the Ohio NAIA championship-winning team each year. After his playing career, Shoop served as an assistant coach at Malone University and Mississippi State, working with notable players such as Will Clark and Rafael Palmeiro. He then became the head coach of the Birmingham–Southern Panthers from 1990 to 2006, leading the team for seventeen seasons. In 2007, Shoop became the head coach of the UAB Blazers, where he continued to contribute to the baseball program until 2020.
