Brian Douglas Williams (born May 5, 1959) is an American journalist and television news anchor. He began his career as a correspondent for NBC Nightly News in 1993 and eventually became the anchor and managing editor of the broadcast in 2004. In 2015, Williams was suspended by NBC for misrepresenting events during his coverage of the Iraq War in 2003. He was later removed from NBC Nightly News and reassigned as the breaking news anchor for MSNBC. In 2016, Williams became the host of MSNBC's political news show, The 11th Hour. After hosting his final episode in November 2021, he left MSNBC and NBC News.
