Brion Howard James (February 20, 1945 – August 7, 1999) was an American character actor known for his portrayal of antagonists in various films and TV shows. He gained recognition for his role as Leon Kowalski in Blade Runner and appeared in movies such as Southern Comfort, 48 Hrs., Another 48 Hrs., Silverado, Tango & Cash, Red Heat, The Player, and The Fifth Element. With a career spanning over three decades, James appeared in more than 100 films before his untimely death at the age of 54 due to a heart attack. Born in Redlands, California, he grew up in Beaumont, where his parents owned a theater. James had a passion for movies from a young age and pursued theater arts at San Diego State University before moving to New York to further his acting career.
