Broderick Crawford Biography
Broderick Crawford (1911-1986) was an American actor best known for his portrayal of Willie Stark in the film All the King's Men (1949), which earned him an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. He gained recognition for his tough-guy roles and later starred as Dan Mathews in the crime television series Highway Patrol (1955–1959). Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Crawford came from a family of vaudeville performers. Both his parents, Lester Crawford and Helen Broderick, had successful careers in the entertainment industry. Crawford began his acting career on stage and later transitioned into films and television.
