Bruce Pandolfini (born September 17, 1947) is an American chess author, teacher, and coach. He is widely recognized as America's most experienced chess teacher. As a USCF national master, Pandolfini has extensive knowledge and expertise in the game. In 1983, he served as the chess consultant for author Walter Tevis during the creation of the novel The Queen's Gambit, which later inspired the popular 2020 Netflix miniseries. Throughout his career, Pandolfini has conducted an estimated 25,000 private and group chess lessons, making him one of the most prolific coaches in the world. His impressive list of successful students includes renowned players such as Fabiano Caruana, Josh Waitzkin, Rachel Crotto, and Jeff Sarwer.
