Bryan Cogman is an American television writer and producer, born on July 25, 1979, in Oklahoma City. He is best known for his work on the HBO series Game of Thrones, for which he wrote eleven episodes. Cogman is also the author of the book Inside HBO's Game of Thrones, featuring a preface by George R. R. Martin. Cogman attended Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland, before pursuing a BFA in Acting at the Juilliard School, graduating in 2001. Despite his acting aspirations, Cogman struggled to find consistent work and supported himself by selling printer cartridges. He eventually transitioned into writing, landing a position on HBO's Game of Thrones.
