Bryant Gumbel

Bryant Charles Gumbel is an American television journalist and sportscaster, born on September 29, 1948. He gained fame as the co-host of NBC's Today for 15 years. Gumbel is the younger brother of sportscaster Greg Gumbel. In 1995, he began hosting HBO's highly acclaimed investigative series Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, which has been praised as TV's best sports program by the Los Angeles Times. The show received a Peabody Award in 2012. Prior to his role on Today, Gumbel worked for NBC Sports, hosting various sporting events, including Major League Baseball, college basketball, and the National Football League. He also hosted the prime time coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympics and the PGA Tour in 1990.
