Bubba Smith Biography
Charles Aaron 'Bubba' Smith (February 28, 1945 – August 3, 2011) was an American football defensive end and actor. He gained prominence at Michigan State University, earning All-American honors twice and playing a significant role in the famous 1966 tie against Notre Dame. Smith's jersey number was retired by the program, and he was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. In the NFL, Smith played for the Baltimore Colts, Oakland Raiders, and Houston Oilers, showcasing his agility and strength as a left defensive end. He participated in Super Bowls III and V and was named to two Pro Bowls. Additionally, Smith pursued a successful career in acting.
