Buddy Ebsen Biography
Buddy Ebsen (1908–2003) was an American actor and dancer known for his roles in The Beverly Hillbillies and Barnaby Jones. Starting as a dancer, Ebsen made his film debut in Broadway Melody of 1936 and appeared alongside Shirley Temple in Captain January. He was originally cast as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz but had to drop out due to illness caused by the aluminum dust in his makeup. Ebsen also appeared in They Met in Argentina and Sing Your Worries Away. In Breakfast at Tiffany's, he played Doc Golightly. Throughout his seven-decade-long career, Ebsen established himself as a versatile actor and performer.
