She gained recognition for her role as Tessa Porter in the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, earning two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Fairbanks began her performing career at the age of eight and has appeared in over 20 professional, regional, and community theatre productions. Notable credits include the Off-Broadway production of Heathers: The Musical (2014) and 13: The Musical. In addition to her acting, Fairbanks is also a musician who performs under the name Cait Fairbanks and Ginesse. Since 2017, she has portrayed Tessa Porter on The Young and the Restless, allowing her to showcase her own songwriting talents on the show.
