Calahan Skogman

Calahan Wade Skogman (born May 12, 1993) is an American actor and former collegiate basketball and football player. He is best known for his portrayal of Matthias Helvar in the Netflix series Shadow and Bone. Skogman was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and later moved to Seymour. He comes from a diverse heritage, with Swedish, English, German, Italian, and Hungarian roots. Skogman excelled in sports during his high school years, earning multiple titles in basketball and football. He was recruited to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-State team and had aspirations of joining the NBA. Skogman went on to study history at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he also played NCAA Division II basketball and football.
