Carel Struycken

Carel Struycken (born 30 July 1948) is a Dutch actor known for his roles in various television series and films. He gained recognition for portraying the Giant/Fireman in the popular television series Twin Peaks from 1990 to 1991 and in its 2017 revival. Struycken also appeared as Mr. Homn in the sci-fi series Star Trek: The Next Generation from 1987 to 1992 and played the role of Lurch, the household butler, in the Addams Family films of the 1990s. He has further showcased his talent in films such as Gerald's Game (2017) and Doctor Sleep (2019). Born in The Hague, Struycken studied directing at the film school in Amsterdam before pursuing a career in acting.
