Carla Renata

Carla Renata (sometimes credited as Carla Renata Williams) is an American actress and singer. Born in Cherry Point, North Carolina and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Renata has achieved success in both Broadway musicals and television shows. She graduated from Howard University with a B.A. in Broadcast Production and made her Broadway debut in the Matthew Broderick revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Renata has appeared in long-running musicals such as The Life, Smokey Joe's Cafe, and the Queen musical We Will Rock You in Las Vegas. She is also the creator and host of The Curvy Critic with Carla Renata, which streams on YouTube and Facebook Live. Renata has made history as the first African American actress to secure recurring roles on four television shows, including Shake It Up, Hart of Dixie, How to Live With Your Parents, Mr. Box Office, and Superstore.
