Caroline Palmer is a renowned cognitive neuroscientist and professor at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She holds the distinguished Canada Research Chair in Cognitive Neuroscience of Performance and is a Professor in the Department of Psychology. Additionally, she is an Associate Faculty Member in the Schulich School of Music at McGill. Palmer's research focuses on the intricate connections between cognition and performance, specifically exploring how people learn, remember, and control motor actions for activities like playing musical instruments and speaking. She has developed and tested computational models to better understand how individuals perceive and produce auditory sequences, as well as how they coordinate their actions with others. Palmer received her BSci in psychology from the University of Michigan and completed her Ph.D. in cognitive psychology at Cornell University, investigating the cognitive and motor foundations of music performance.
