Carolyn Sue Jones (April 28, 1930 – August 3, 1983) was an American actress known for her work in television and film. Born in Amarillo, Texas, Jones began her film career in the early 1950s and gained recognition with an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1957. She also received a Golden Globe Award for her promising talent in 1959. Jones is best remembered for her portrayal of Morticia Addams in the original black and white television series The Addams Family, which began in 1964. Her film career spanned over two decades, and she remained a prominent figure in the entertainment industry until her passing in 1983.
