Carolyn McCormick (born September 19, 1959) is an American actress known for her role as Dr. Elizabeth Olivet in the Law & Order franchise. Born and raised in Midland, Texas, she graduated at the top of her class from The Kinkaid School in Houston in 1977. McCormick earned a B.F.A. with honors from Williams College in 1981 and later obtained an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. She has appeared in various television shows, movies, and theater productions. Some of her notable film credits include Enemy Mine, Whatever Works, You Know My Name, and A Simple Twist of Fate. McCormick's television work includes her role as district attorney Rita Fiore in Spenser: For Hire and appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
