Carolyn Michelle Smith is an American actor known for her roles in House of Cards, Marvel's Luke Cage, Russian Doll, and Colony. Smith acted in the Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet alongside Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad, directed by David Leveaux. She played Willa Penton in the first and second seasons of House of Cards. Smith has also performed in various theatrical productions, including 'Soldier X' at the Ma-Yi Theatre Company, 'Hit The Wall' at the Barrow Street Theatre, and 'Serial. Black. Face' Workshop at the Signature Theatre Company. She appeared in the play 'Rich Girl' at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego. In 2021, Smith joined the cast of the second season of the Netflix series Russian Doll in a recurring role, portraying the character of Agnes, the grandmother of Alan Zaveri, played by Charlie Barnett. Additionally, she appears as Deja in the fifth season of The Chi.
