Carolyn Pickles (born February 8, 1952) is an English actress known for her appearances in West End theatre and on British television. She has portrayed notable roles such as DCI Kim Reid in The Bill and Shelley Williams in Emmerdale. Born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Pickles is the daughter of Circuit Judge James Pickles and the niece of actress Christina Pickles and great-niece of Wilfred Pickles, a renowned TV and radio personality. She studied drama at the University of Manchester and joined the BBC's Radio Drama Company. In addition to her TV roles, Pickles played the lead role as Miss Bluebell in the BBC series of the same name in 1986.
