Casey Anderson
Casey Anderson (October 5, 1934 – November 11, 1989) was an American blues and folk singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Born in Chicago and raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Anderson grew up listening to folk and country music. He began performing while attending Maryland State College, where he sang, wrote songs, and played guitar in small jazz groups. After graduating with a degree in History and Sociology, he worked as a high school teacher in Alabama while pursuing his singing career in nightclubs and local shows. Anderson recorded ten albums and fifteen singles on various labels, including Elektra and Atco, from 1959 to 1976. He was known for his soulful blues and folk-infused sound.
