Casper Ruud (born December 22, 1998) is a Norwegian professional tennis player. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 on September 12, 2022, becoming the highest-ranked Norwegian in history. Ruud has won ten ATP Tour singles titles and finished as the runner-up in three Grand Slam tournaments (2022 French Open, 2022 US Open, and 2023 French Open) as well as the 2022 ATP Finals. He was awarded the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award in 2022 for his professional on-court demeanor. As a junior, Ruud was ranked world No. 1. In doubles, he reached a career-high ranking of world No. 133 and made it to the quarterfinals of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships.
