Cassandra Wilson (born December 4, 1955) is an American jazz singer, songwriter, and producer. Hailing from Jackson, Mississippi, Wilson has become one of the most successful female Jazz singers. She is known for her distinct timbre and attack, expanding the boundaries of jazz by infusing elements of blues, country, and folk music.
