Caterina Scorsone is a Canadian-American actress known for her role as Dr. Amelia Shepherd on the ABC medical drama Grey's Anatomy and its spin-offs Private Practice and Station 19. She began her acting career as a child actor on the Canadian children's program, Mr. Dressup. Scorsone has also appeared in films such as Edge of Darkness and The November Man. Her other television credits include roles on Missing, Crash, and Alice. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she is the middle child of five in her family and is of half Italian descent. Scorsone's father is a social worker and her mother is a social anthropologist.
