Catherine McCormack Biography
Catherine Jane McCormack (born 3 April 1972) is an English actress known for her roles in various films and theatrical productions. She was born in Epsom, Surrey, England and has Irish ancestry. Raised in a Roman Catholic household by her steelworker father after her mother's death, McCormack attended the Convent of Our Lady of Providence before studying at the Oxford School of Drama. She made her screen debut as the lead in the film Loaded (1994) and gained recognition for her portrayal of Murron MacClannough in the Academy Award-winning film Braveheart (1995). McCormack's other notable film credits include The Land Girls (1998), Dangerous Beauty (1998), Spy Game (2001), and 28 Weeks Later (2007). She has also appeared in National Theatre productions such as All My Sons (2000) and Honour (2003).
