Cathy DeBuono

Cathy DeBuono is an American actress and practicing psychotherapist. Born on March 20, 1970, in Yonkers, New York, she was raised in Bronxville. In her youth, she excelled as a volleyball player, earning awards and medals, including consecutive gold medals at the U.S. Olympic Festival in 1990 and 1991. After a knee injury, DeBuono shifted her focus to acting. She studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and graduated in 1994. DeBuono gained recognition for her role as M'Pella, a dabo girl, in the last three seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Apart from her acting career, DeBuono is also a qualified psychotherapist.
