Chandra Wilson

Chandra Danette Wilson is an American actress and director, born on August 27, 1969. She is best known for her portrayal of Dr. Miranda Bailey in the ABC television drama Grey's Anatomy since 2005, a role that has earned her four nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Wilson also portrayed the character of Bailey in the shows Private Practice and Station 19. In addition to her television work, she made her New York stage debut in 1991 and appeared in various prime-time television shows. Wilson's first film appearance was in the 1993 film Philadelphia. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Wilson was actively involved in dance lessons and acting classes from a young age.
