Charles Busch Biography
Charles Louis Busch (born August 23, 1954) is an American actor, screenwriter, playwright, and drag queen. He is known for his appearances in his own camp style plays, as well as in film and television. Busch began his career Off-off-Broadway in 1978, writing and starring in his own plays, often in drag roles, and also acting in the works of other playwrights. In the late 1990s, he ventured into television and film, both as a writer and an actor. One of his most notable works is the play 'The Tale of the Allergist's Wife' (2000), which achieved success on Broadway. Born and raised in Hartsdale, New York, Busch is the son of Gertrude and Benjamin Busch, and has two older sisters, Meg and Betsy Busch.
