Charles Nelson Reilly (January 13, 1931 – May 25, 2007) was an American actor, comedian, director, and drama teacher. He gained recognition for his comedic roles on stage, film, and television. Reilly appeared in the original Broadway casts of Bye Bye Birdie, Hello, Dolly!, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, earning a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. His notable television credits include The Ghost & Mrs. Muir and Match Game. In 2006, his autobiographical one-man play Save It for the Stage: The Life of Reilly was adapted into a film. Reilly was born and raised in the Bronx, New York City, and developed a love for theater from an early age.
