Charlie Hardwick, born Claire Elizabeth Hardwick on November 3, 1960, is an English actress known for her versatile performances. She gained popularity through her portrayal of Val Pollard in the long-running ITV soap opera Emmerdale from 2004 to 2015, and again in 2017. In 2019, she joined the cast of the popular Channel 4 comedy-drama series Ackley Bridge as Sue Carp. Hardwick has appeared in several notable productions, including the comedy film Purely Belter (2000) and the critically acclaimed Billy Elliot. She received the Best Actress award at the Monte Carlo International Television Festival in 1998 for her role in Amber Films' The Scar. With multiple British Soap Award nominations, Hardwick won the Best Comedy Performance category in 2006 for her work on Emmerdale.
