Charlie McDermott, born Charles Joseph McDermott Jr. on April 6, 1990, is an American actor and musician. He gained popularity for his portrayal of Axl Heck on ABC's The Middle. McDermott's talent was recognized when he received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his performance in the critically acclaimed film Frozen River. Starting his career in television, McDermott has appeared in various series including The Office and Private Practice. Notable roles include Wild Bill in Disappearances and T.J. Eddy in Frozen River.
