Charlotte Crossley, nicknamed 'Charlo', is an American singer and actress known for her roles in musical theatrical productions of Hairspray, The Color Purple, and Jesus Christ Superstar. She gained recognition as a member of the Harlettes in Bette Midler's Clams On The Half-Shell Revue and for her appearance in the documentary film 20 Feet from Stardom. In 2005, she won the NAACP Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the first national tour of Hairspray. Crossley grew up in Chicago, where she studied music and theatre. She also appeared in the original cast album of Jesus Christ Superstar and has been featured in various musicals and films including Hairspray.
