Chelo Vivares Biography
Chelo Vivares (born Consuelo Vivares; April 21, 1952) is a Spanish actress known for her role as Espinete on Barrio Sésamo, the Spanish adaptation of Sesame Street, from 1983 to 1987. She started her career in Spanish television, appearing in various TV series including Cuentos y leyendas (1975), La señora García se confiesa (1976), and Estudio 1 (1983). In 1979, Vivares ventured into voice acting, dubbing characters in movies such as The In-Laws and Fame. As the principal puppeteer, she portrayed Espinete, the beloved Muppet character, on Barrio Sésamo. After the show's cancellation, Vivares continued her voice acting work and even reprised her role as Espinete in a theatrical adaptation of Barrio Sésamo.
