Chester Charles Bennington (March 20, 1976 – July 20, 2017) was an American singer and actor. He gained prominence as the lead vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park, as well as being a lead vocalist for Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, and Stone Temple Pilots at various points in his career. Bennington's soaring vocals propelled Linkin Park to worldwide success, with their debut album Hybrid Theory (2000) becoming one of the bestselling debut albums of the decade. He continued to serve as the band's lead vocalist for their subsequent studio albums, which all charted within the top three spots of the Billboard 200. In addition to his musical career, Bennington also appeared in a few TV shows and films throughout his life.
