Chino XL Biography
Derek Emmanuel Barbosa, better known by his stage name Chino XL, is an American rapper and actor. Born on April 8, 1974, in The Bronx, New York, Chino has released four solo studio albums, with his most recent, Ricanstruction: The Black Rosary, winning the 2012 HHUG Album of the Year award. Apart from his successful music career, Chino has also made a name for himself in the acting industry. He has appeared in several films and episodes of television, including a series regular role on Cinemax series Sex Chronicles. Chino has also appeared as a guest star on Comedy Central series Reno 911! and CBS series CSI: Miami. Additionally, Chino has acted in feature films, such as Alex & Emma and The Beat. Chino XL is the nephew of Bernie Worrell from the music group Parliament/Funkadelic and is a member of Mensa.
