    Chris Baio Biography
    Christopher Baio, born on October 29, 1984, is an American musician and record producer. He gained fame as the bassist for the indie rock band Vampire Weekend, based in New York City. Baio has also released solo music under the name Baio, with his debut solo album, The Names, being released on September 18, 2015, through Glassnote Records. Baio's passion for music started at an early age, with his first album purchase at seven years old and attending his first concert at nine. He attended Columbia University, majoring in Russian and Eurasian Regional studies and minoring in Math, graduating in 2007. While initially planning to teach math for Teach for America, the success of Vampire Weekend led him to decline the opportunity.
