    Chris Barron, born Christopher Gross on February 5, 1968, is an American singer and songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer of Spin Doctors. Barron spent his childhood in the Bronx and Rye, New York, and briefly lived in Australia during his early years. He attended Princeton High School where he became close friends with John Popper, and the two would often jam together. After attending Bennington College in Vermont for a year, Barron returned to Princeton and immersed himself in music. During this time, he wrote popular songs such as 'Jimmy Olsen's Blues' and 'Two Princes'.
