Chris Franklin (born September 16, 1964) is an Australian stand-up comedian and former sailor for the Royal Australian Navy. He gained fame for his platinum-certified song 'Bloke,' which topped the ARIA Charts and was one of the best-selling singles in Australia in 2000. Franklin, originally from Sydney, spent part of his early life on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea. After serving as a chef in the Navy for eight years, including cooking for Queen Elizabeth II, he took a ten-year break to travel Australia. Since October 1997, Franklin has been performing comedy, winning awards such as the PBS Radio Golden Stom Award and National Triple J Raw Comedy for Best New Comedian.
