Chris Gethard

Chris Gethard is an American actor, comedian, and writer. He gained recognition as the host of The Chris Gethard Show, a talk show based in New York City, which aired from 2011 to 2018. Gethard is also known for his podcast work, hosting Beautiful Stories From Anonymous People and New Jersey is the World. He grew up in West Orange, New Jersey, and attended West Orange High School. Gethard is an improvisational actor who honed his skills at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Manhattan. He started doing standup comedy in 2006. In 2013, IFC commissioned him to write a pilot based on his book, A Bad Idea I'm About to Do.
