Chris Hayes

Chris Hayes, born Christopher Loffredo Hayes on February 28, 1979, is an American political commentator, television news anchor, activist, and author. He is best known as the host of the weekday news and opinion television show All In with Chris Hayes on MSNBC. Additionally, Hayes hosts a weekly podcast on MSNBC called Why Is This Happening? Previously, he hosted the weekend show Up with Chris Hayes. Hayes is also an editor-at-large for The Nation magazine. Born in the Norwood neighborhood of Riverdale in the Bronx, Hayes is the son of Roger and Geri Hayes. He has a background in community organizing and a mixed heritage of Italian and Irish Catholic ancestry.
