Chris Murphy Biography
Christopher Scott Murphy, born on August 3, 1973, is an American lawyer, author, and politician. He currently serves as the junior United States senator from Connecticut since 2013. Murphy is a member of the Democratic Party and previously represented CT's 5th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013. Prior to his time in Congress, he served in both chambers of the Connecticut General Assembly. In 2012, he ran for the U.S. Senate and won against Republican candidate Linda McMahon. At the age of 39, Murphy became the youngest senator at the time of his election.
