Chris Obi

Christopher Obi Ogugua, born on September 24, 1970, is an English actor and filmmaker. He studied at Drama Centre London and graduated in 2001. Obi has had notable appearances in both theater and television. He performed at the Royal Shakespeare Company in the play 'Breakfast with Mugabe' and at the Globe Theatre in 2007. On television, Obi is recognized for his roles as Mr. Jacquel/Anubis in 'American Gods' and Klingon captain T’Kuvma in 'Star Trek: Discovery.' He has also appeared in shows such as 'Trial & Retribution,' 'Doctor Who,' 'Roots,' '3Below: Tales of Arcadia,' and 'Strike Back Revolution.' Born in London, Obi is of Igbo descent. He is also an Artistic Director at Actor in Session and made his professional theater debut in 2002 in Edward Hall's production of 'Macbeth.'
