Chris O'Shea

Chris O'Shea is a British businessman and the chief executive of Centrica, a position he has held since April 2020. Prior to becoming CEO, O'Shea served as the finance director of Centrica. Known for his leadership during challenging times, O'Shea made the decision to forego annual bonuses of over £1 million from 2018 to 2022, citing the hardships faced by consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic and international energy price crisis. In 2023, Centrica achieved year-end profits of over £3 billion, leading to calls for O'Shea to forego his bonus again. Ultimately, he settled for a severance package of over 4 million GBP. O'Shea has faced controversy for his involvement in the largest 'fire, rehire' in British business history and has been accused of providing misleading information to a parliamentary committee regarding the impact of the restructuring at Centrica.
