Chris Powell Biography
Christopher George Robin Powell, born on September 8, 1969, is an English football coach and former player. Powell primarily played as a left back throughout his career. He represented several clubs including Southend United, Derby County, Charlton Athletic, West Ham United, Watford, and Leicester City. Powell also earned five caps for the England national team. During his time with Charlton, he had three separate spells with the club and played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League in the 1999-2000 season. After retiring from playing, Powell transitioned into coaching and management. He held positions as a first team coach at Leicester and later became the manager of Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town, achieving promotion with Charlton in his first season. Powell has also worked as an assistant manager at Derby County.
