Christopher Jerell Redd, born on March 25, 1985, is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, rapper, and singer. Redd gained prominence after joining the cast of the NBC sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live, in 2017 for five seasons until 2022. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in 2018 for co-writing the SNL song 'Come Back Barack.' Redd has also made appearances in films such as 'Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping' (2016) and TV shows like 'Disjointed' (2017-2018) and 'Kenan' (2021-2022). Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Redd moved to Naperville, a suburb of Chicago, at a young age. He attended Naperville schools and developed his rap skills to overcome a childhood stutter.
