Christiane Amanpour

Christiane Amanpour (born January 12, 1958) is a British-Iranian journalist and television host. She is the Chief International Anchor for CNN and the host of CNN International's nightly interview program Amanpour. Amanpour is also the host of Amanpour & Company on PBS. Born in Ealing, West London, she was raised in Tehran until the age of 11. She then attended boarding school in England, first at Holy Cross Convent in Buckinghamshire and later at New Hall School in Chelmsford, Essex. Amanpour's father was Iranian and her mother was Roman Catholic. She has become a prominent figure in television journalism, known for her extensive coverage of international conflicts and her insightful interviews with world leaders.
